BAMSS Delivers CCTV Solution – BAMSS Security Specialists has delivered an integrated CCTV surveillance system at the Capalaba Park n Ride, a newly developed public transport facility designed to improve commuter access and connectivity in Brisbane’s eastern corridor.
Located in Capalaba, the park and ride facility supports bus-based public transport with a dedicated interchange and modern parking infrastructure, forming part of broader efforts to increase public transport uptake and reduce congestion. The site is designed to handle high daily commuter volumes, requiring reliable security and centralised monitoring from day one.
BAMSS was engaged to secure the site through a fully integrated video surveillance solution aligned with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) operational requirements. The scope included deployment of the latest DVTel (it’s now FLIR Latitude) server platform and i-PRO PTZ cameras positioned to deliver full site coverage across the interchange and parking areas.
The system is integrated into TMR’s central monitoring network, allowing live viewing, remote management and centralised control via the department’s operations centre. This approach supports compliance with TMR technical standards while providing flexibility for future expansion.
BAMSS chief executive officer Virginia Tobias said the project highlighted the role of integrated security in public infrastructure.
“Capalaba Park n Ride is a great example of how the right security solution can support safer, more connected communities,” Tobias said.
“For us, projects like this are about more than just installation. It’s about ensuring the site is secure from day one, while meeting the high operational standards required by Transport and Main Roads.”
According to Tobias, early integration of security systems is critical to long-term performance and usability.
“What this project reinforces is simple. When security is considered early and integrated properly, it strengthens public confidence, improves oversight and sets the foundation for long-term success,” she said.
BAMSS said the project was delivered using in-house technical resources, with a focus on meeting specification and ensuring seamless integration into existing government systems. The completed installation provides a scalable platform supporting ongoing operations, monitoring and future upgrades.
