Crown Integrates Verkada Visitor Management – Crown Security has completed an integration combining Verkada TD53 and CD63 cameras with Verkada Enterprise Visitor Management.
Perth-based Crown has integrated Verkada Guest visitor management platform with Verkada video intercoms and dome cameras so visitor information can be registered and presented alongside live video when a person approaches an entrance.
When a visitor uses a Verkada intercom at an entrance, person of interest information can appear in real time during the call. This gives the staff member responding to the intercom additional information before deciding whether to grant access. The person of interest function can also be triggered by other cameras on site.
According to Crown Security general manager, Saverio Galanti, the integration provides a particularly useful application of the technology.
“How it works is impressive, especially using the person of interest feature,” said Galanti.
The integration can be configured to prevent an egress button from releasing automatically when a person of interest alert is generated, adding another control point to the entrance decision.
The Verkada TD53 video intercom integrated by Crown combines a 5MP camera, access control reader and full-duplex 2-way audio in a single cloud-managed device.
The intercom’s camera provides 2688 x 1944 pixels of resolution, a 130-degree horizontal field of view, WDR and infrared illumination to 15m, while a 4-microphone MEMS array with noise cancellation and echo suppression supports 2-way communication through a speaker rated at up to 90dB.
The integrated reader supports 7 credential methods, including low and high-frequency cards and fobs, NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy, DTMF and remote unlocking. The unit’s IP66 and IK08-rated enclosure is designed for outdoor installation.
Meanwhile, Verkada’s CD63 is a 4K dome camera using a 1/1.2-inch progressive CMOS sensor, pan, tilt and rotation adjustment and a motorised varifocal lens with a 5.9 to 13.3mm focal range. The CD63’s flexibility makes it ideal for supporting Verkada Guest’s person of interest functionality elsewhere on site.
