SNP Security ACT
Branch Manager Peter Georgiou said two SNP patrolmen found and distinguished a
number of deliberately lit spot fires in the area, and notified emergency
services when they found a larger fire, their actions saving a historically
important Queanbeyan building.

Two youths have
been charged over the attack which threatened to burn down the Queanbeyan
Record Building (previously known as the Queanbeyan Fire Station).

Mr Georgiou said
the mayor of Queanbeyan Councillor Tim Overall will present the two patrolmen
Jason O’Meara and Allan Dahlstrom with an award at a ceremony to be held at 266
Crawford Street, Queanbeyan, on Friday 5th February at 10:00am.

The same night as
the Record Building was set alight, several other suspicious fires were also
started in and around the Queanbeyan CBD.

SNP Security is
Australia’s largest privately owned security company, with clients including
the Department of the Prime Minster & Cabinet, the Federal Attorney
General’s Department and Medicare.
