BLUE Mountains City Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified contractor to undertake the detailed design and construction of security upgrade works at Echo Point Precinct.
The plans are part of a programme to construct a new Visitor Information Centre at Echo Point. The new building will feature interactive information displays, learning areas, a multi-purpose space, souvenirs and administration areas.
The upgrades, which will increase the capacity of people able to visit the centre, will help cope with the 4 million tourists expected to be visiting the City by 2025. Enhanced security will ensure visitors to the area are safe.
“Tourism is critical to the Blue Mountains economy and the new visitor information services will provide a high-quality tourism destination for domestic and international tourists,” said BMCC Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill.
“Echo Point is one of the prime Blue Mountains visitor destinations, and through the information centre visitors receive personalised information to ensure they have the best possible visitor experience.”
The tender closes on February 20, 2019.
