Ajax Keypad Touchscreen – Ajax Keypad Touchscreen is a metal and scratch-resistant glass touchscreen keypad that provides an app-like interface for managing security and smart home systems.
Connecting via Ajax Jeweller and supporting Bluetooth and DESFire, the keypad allows users to view what parts of the system are armed and make changes, including securing one group, multiple groups, activating night mode, or arming an entire site.
There are 3 authentication methods, including smartphone NFC, pass card or tag keyfob and PIN code. Ajax pass cards and tag fobs are equipped with original DESFire chips and feature the same functionality but different enclosures. Credentials, which are available in batches, can control 13 security systems.
A smartphone with the installed Ajax app and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support can be used instead of Tag or Pass to authorize a user. BLE is a radio protocol with low power consumption. The keypad supports Android and iOS smartphones with BLE 4.2 and higher.
The keypad has a light sensor for automatic backlight adjustment — bright during the day, not dazzling at night and a proximity sensor for automatic keypad activation when a hand approaches. There’s a distinctive buzzer that indicates alarms, delays, or other events. A separate tab contains up to 6 buttons, and each one can control one automation device or a group of devices.
Ajax Keypad Touchscreen is 172 x 82 x 26mm, weighs 327g, has integrated tamper, and an operating temperature of -10 to 40C. The capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a backlight lifespan of 30,000 hours and a warranty period of 24 months.
KeyPad TouchScreen provides a tab with configurable panic buttons that can notify about 3 event types. If the user is forced to disarm the system, they can use a duress code that simulates disarming while simultaneously sending a duress alarm to a control room.
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss. Updating the statuses of devices depends on the Jeweller settings; the default value is 36 seconds. Regardless of polling period, tamper alarms are sent instantly.
Installers pair KeyPad TouchScreen with a hub by scanning the QR code and there’s no enclosure disassembly or battery installation required. PRO Desktop software is available for professional monitoring.
