Alarm Watch Unveils New Monitoring App Built for Technicians and Customers.
Alarm Watch Unveils New Monitoring App – Whanganui-based Alarm Watch has launched a new monitoring app designed to streamline alarm monitoring for technicians, improve client experience, and support advanced integrations with video and access control systems.
The release is the company’s most significant digital upgrade since 2007, when Alarm Watch became the first monitoring centre in Australia or New Zealand to launch its own mobile app.
The new version, rebuilt from the ground up, has been developed to support the current demands of the security industry. It features a modern interface, improved performance, and a growing suite of functions that support both field technicians and end users.
“With around 20,000 unique users across New Zealand, the app has become a key tool for technicians,” said Wade Coneybeer, CEO of Alarm Watch. “When we launched our first app in 2007, we were leading the way by putting monitoring tools directly into the hands of technicians and customers. This new release takes that concept much further. It is faster, smarter, and designed around how people work in 2025.”
The updated app allows installers to load new monitoring clients directly from the field, place sites into test mode with minimal input, and, for Permaconn users, activate and ping units without needing to log into Atlas. Technicians can also confirm which zones have restored after service, and generate commission reports showing all tested zones.
Support is available directly through the app via live chat with Alarm Watch’s in-house technical team, and video chat is offered for more complex issues. These features help technicians resolve issues faster and reduce job delays.
For end users, the app includes a streamlined communication interface with live operator chat, along with video integration that enables customers to view the same verified event footage operators use to assess alarm signals. This function supports video verification with platforms including Permaconn, ChekT, Actuate and Secury360.
The app also introduces QR code-based access control. Customers can generate role-specific codes to enable temporary access for third parties, such as cleaners or fire contractors, without needing a physical credential.
Bureau partners benefit from a new dashboard with bureau tracking and a dedicated fault management interface. This allows real-time acknowledgment of faults while keeping operators informed and reduces unnecessary call-outs.
Alarm Watch’s updated app is now available and supports all customer types, from single-site users to national bureaus. You can contact the Alarm Watch team for more information about the new app here or read more SEN news here.
