ASIS ACT SAGE Seminars Announced And Cover Protective Security, Risk, Facilities And Australia’s Security Environment.
ASIS ACT SAGE Seminars Announced – Held in partnership with SAGE Expo at the Realm Hotel Canberra November 19, ASIS ACT’s seminar program covers protective security, risk, facilities and Australia’s security environment.
The ASIS ACT seminars are free for all SAGE attendees with registration for the expo providing access to the sessions of your choice.
The current seminar program includes Andi Gynn speaking on ‘Security in Plain Sight: Seeing the Forest and the Trees’, Dr Tony Murney on ‘Pushing Facility Security Past the Point of Failure’, Michael Cohen on ‘Australia’s Approach to the US Alliance’, and a further session from Matthew Curtis, with an additional session still to be confirmed.
The program sits alongside ASIS ACT’s government protective security training, which is being delivered through technical and governance streams.
The technical program covers areas including SCEC construction requirements and compliance, audio security, emanation security, electronic security management and hostile vehicle mitigation, while the governance stream addresses security risk management, insider threat, artificial intelligence in security and security project business cases.
Along with seminars and training, attendees are invited to the ASIS ACT Gala Dinner, with networking drinks from 6pm and dinner from 7pm. This year the Gala Dinner will be held at the Australian War Memorial. And the day before the event, ASIS ACT is running its annual Charity Golf Day, which by all accounts was a great day last year.
ASIS ACT chapter chair Bou Waterhouse said the overall event provides a way for security professionals in ACT to network, learn, and engage with current security issues, while also seeing the latest security technology on the SAGE exhibition floor.
Note that the exhibition and general seminar program are free for registered attendees, while the ASIS ACT government training is a separately ticketed program for eligible government personnel and DISP members.
SAGE exhibitors include Convergint Technologies, JCI, Allegion, BGW Technologies, Geutebrück, CIC Technology, Lox Locking, Hanwha Vision, Axis, Stentofon, Milestone, ICT, Motorola Solutions, ARA Manufacture, Honeywell, Gallagher, Traka, SRA Solutions, Leader Security Electronics, C.R.
