ASSA ABLOY Acquires Site Owl Cloud-Based Security System Lifecycle Management.

ASSA ABLOY Acquires Site Owl – ASSA ABLOY has acquired Austin, Texas-based cloud-based physical security lifecycle management platform SiteOwl.

It’s another smart but from ASSA ABLOY, in SEN’s opinion. That’s because every security manager and every facilities manager and every installer and integrator should be using a system like this.

Rather than requiring management of an organisation’s security systems to be undertaken manually, SiteOwl collectivises all security assets so they can be managed more easily and notifications and reporting can be automated.

What can SiteOwl manage? Pretty much everything including security designs, floor plans, parts lists, daily job reports, service tickets, equipment schedules, scope of work documentation, quality control images and notes, meeting notes, operational performance parameters that might justify upgrade of devices based on site data, and plenty more.

The beauty of SiteOwl from the point of view of installers and integrators is that it lets them much more easily manage entire sites and entire organisations over the lifecycle of systems from installation to decommissioning. These systems might include multiple security solutions and all their constellations of devices (think a university, hospital or an airport), as well as related power and networking components.

And because SiteOwl is cloud-based, the information can be shared with stakeholders. That means security managers, facilities managers and building managers can be kept in the loop of what systems they have and what issues might be emerging, with system reporting down to the device level, which, let’s face it, is highly desirable from a building management and risk management point of view.

“I am very pleased to welcome SiteOwl to ASSA ABLOY, an exciting technological addition that will reinforce our current offering within physical security lifecycle management, and provide complementary growth opportunities,” said Nico Delvaux, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY.

“The SiteOwl acquisition represents an important enhancement to how we support the access control industry. We’re reshaping how system integrators, service providers, and end-users manage their access control infrastructure.

“Combining our proven specification expertise with SiteOwl’s lifecycle management platform creates value for our customers and positions us at the forefront of the ongoing digital transformation.”
