Australia To Support Regional Cybersecurity Through Intelligence Partnerships.
Australia To Support Regional Cybersecurity – Australia’s Government is advancing efforts to support the cybersecurity resilience of its Pacific and Southeast Asian neighbours, with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) seeking a qualified industry partner to deliver tailored cyber threat intelligence and analysis.
Through its Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology Branch, DFAT is focused on enhancing regional awareness of evolving cyber threats, with particular attention on coordinated inauthentic behaviour (CIB), foreign information manipulation, and interference activities. The move supports ongoing regional stability efforts by equipping partners with actionable insights into the tactics, techniques and procedures of malicious cyber actors.
As part of the engagement, the selected provider will deliver detailed intelligence reports and assessments that can inform Australian Government decision-making and strengthen intelligence-sharing arrangements with regional partners. This includes timely responses to priority requests and executive-level summaries suited for strategic coordination.
The project underscores Australia’s commitment to working with its regional allies to address shared cybersecurity challenges through timely, evidence-based collaboration, and given the work has now been taken to tender, suggests this is a long-term strategy.
