Australian Institute of Marine Science Seeks Security – Australian Institute of Marine Science is seeking physical security and alarm monitoring.
AIMS is a tropical marine research centre located primarily at Cape Ferguson in the locality of Cape Cleveland, 50km from Townsville, Queensland. Established in 1972, the institute’s primary function is research for sustainable use and protection of the marine environment through investigation of topics from broad-scale ecology to microbiology.
AIMS’ headquarters are substantial and comprise a 207-hectare coastal site 50 km from Townsville, Queensland, in a scientific zone surrounded by National Park and Marine Reserve. The location was selected because of its proximity to the geographical centre of the Great Barrier Reef and access to clean seawater. This strategic position provides a fast transition from the sea to the laboratory, a key advantage in marine science.
AIMS also has a vessel facility located at 5 Sandspit Drive, Townsville and security services are required for both sites in a varying capacity.

The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) would like to receive expressions of interest from the following experienced contractors after hours physical security services and plant monitoring services – adjacent separable services include cleaning and catering.
AIMS intends to let contracts for maintenance services required to undertake the maintenance of a variety of assets for a period of 3 years with the option of an extension of a further 3 years commencing on September 2024.
