Australian War Memorial Seeks Alarm Monitoring – Australian War Memorial has released a request for tender seeking the provision of security guarding services at its Campbell and Mitchell sites in Canberra.
The contract includes a mix of fixed and variable services across multiple locations and operating hours. At its Campbell facility, the Memorial requires after-hours control room monitoring and patrols, as well as business-hours support staff to work alongside the in-house security team.
At its Mitchell facility, the contract includes regular mobile patrols. Additional variable components cover the supply of extra support staff for routine needs, special events, corporate functions, escort duties, and to provide coverage during in-house staff leave. The proposed contract term is 4 years with 4 possible 1-year extensions at the discretion of the Memorial.
The Australian War Memorial is a national shrine commemorating the service and sacrifice of Australia’s armed forces. It incorporates galleries, archives, a research centre, ceremonial spaces, and grounds that attract large numbers of daily visitors, including international dignitaries and public officials.
Security at the Memorial involves both public-facing roles and behind-the-scenes support across day and night operations. There are no mandatory conditions for participation and providers should note that tender offers must be lodged through the Australian Government’s procurement portal.
