Axis Releases Bispectral PTZ Camera As Part Of Growing AI Portfolio.

Axis Releases Bispectral PTZ Camera – Axis Communications has expanded its network camera portfolio with new AI-driven devices designed to deliver higher situational awareness, stronger edge analytics and integrated cybersecurity.

The release includes a bispectral PTZ camera combining thermal and visual imaging in a single unit, alongside 4 new AI-powered bullet cameras built for forensic image capture in difficult conditions. All new models are based on Axis ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip technology, enabling advanced analytics to run directly on the device.

The new camera range ships with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled. The application detects, classifies, tracks and counts humans, vehicles and vehicle types on the edge, reducing reliance on central processing and lowering response time. Device security is reinforced through Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform providing FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and cryptographic operations.

The AXIS Q6411-LE bispectral PTZ combines thermal detection with visual confirmation in a single PTZ camera to support early detection and verified response. The camera supports AV1 video encoding and delivers enhanced situational awareness for perimeter and wide-area surveillance. In addition to AXIS Object Analytics, it supports AXIS Perimeter Defender for thermal-based area protection. Orientation aid and Autotracking 2 with click-and-track functionality simplify target acquisition and continuous tracking.

Axis has also released 4 new AI-powered bullet cameras designed to deliver consistent forensic detail in harsh environments and challenging weather. The AXIS P1475-LE and AXIS P1485-LE deliver 2 MP resolution. The AXIS P1487-LE provides 5MP, while the AXIS P1488-LE delivers 8 MP and includes a large 1/1.2-inch image sensor to maintain low-light performance. All models feature OptimizedIR for night surveillance and Axis Zipstream technology to reduce bandwidth and storage load while preserving evidentiary detail.
