Axis Releasing New AI Cameras Based On ARTPEC-9 SoC.
Axis Releasing New AI Cameras — Axis Communications has announced the release of 12 new indoor and outdoor network dome cameras featuring advanced AI analytics capabilities.
Built on the ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip (SoC), these cameras provide enhanced performance and support sophisticated analytics applications directly at the device level.
The new models, part of the AXIS P32 Series, offer high-resolution image quality of up to 8MP, ensuring accurate detail capture even in challenging lighting conditions. Technologies such as Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR maintain true colours and detail in low-light or difficult environments, while OptimizedIR supports surveillance in complete darkness.
Pre-installed AXIS Object Analytics enables the cameras to automatically detect, classify, track, and count humans, vehicles, and specific types of vehicles. AXIS Image Health Analytics further enhances reliability by alerting users to image obstructions, degradation, redirection, or exposure issues.
Certain models include an acoustic sensor equipped with AXIS Audio Analytics, capable of detecting critical audio events such as screams, shouts, or significant sound-level changes, providing alerts even without visual triggers.
Designed for durability, the cameras are vandal and impact resistant. Outdoor models withstand harsh environmental conditions, operating effectively within a temperature range of -40C to 50C. Built-in cybersecurity is delivered through Axis Edge Vault, providing FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operations.
The new Axis cameras are scheduled for availability through Axis distribution channels in Q2 of 2025 – contact a local Axis distributor here or read more SEN news here.
