BESIX Watpac Seeks CTEC Security – BESIX Watpac has released a tender seeking security solutions for the Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre (CTEC).

While the tender doesn’t specify exactly what security systems BESIX is after, it’s certain to be access, alarms, CCTV, lifts and related automation, with an over-arching management solution.

The Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre (CTEC) will perform research in fields like data science and Internet of Things research, bringing cutting-edge technology to the issues faced by health and medical professionals and their remote, rural, and Indigenous patients.

This project will help to relocate JCU’s Clinical School, from the Cairns University Hospital to the new purpose-built facility with an innovative structure designed to achieve Greenstar recognition in a tropical climate.

The CTEC will have 4 levels, around 3500m square metres of space and facilities that make it a Class 5 and 9b education facility. Practical completion is slated for June 2024.

A key requirement of the project is compliance with the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, and this applies to all contractors. Contractors expressing interest for the trade packages are encouraged to provide this evidence as a response to the EOI and answer all other EOI questions diligently.

This BESIX Watpac Seeks CTEC Security tender closes on June 30 – you can find out more here or read more SEN news here.
