Bosch Sells Security And Communications Business To Triton – Bosch has sold its security and communications technologies business units to Luxembourg-based Triton Capital for an estimated $US725 million.
The transaction, which will close Q2 2025, encompasses 3 business units – BTS Video, Access and Intrusion, and Communication divisions. It includes Bosch’s entire product line for each market segment, all staff and more than 90 locations globally.
Bosch Buildings Technologies won’t be leaving the security and automation space but having intentionally made itself product agnostic intends to focus on “integrated, intelligent, and cross-domain solutions in the areas of building security, energy efficiency, and building automation.”
While it was agreed the purchase price and other details of the purchase agreement between Bosch and Triton would not be disclosed, Bloomberg has quoted sources close to the deal. They suggested a sale price of around $725 million for the business units, which generated revenues of $2.8 billion last financial year.
“It was our aim to find a suitable buyer who would acquire all 3 security and communications technology business units and offer Bosch associates (staff) an outlook for the future,” said Christian Fischer, deputy chairman of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH.
“We have achieved that aim – Triton has presented a sustainable and credible growth strategy for the business. As an investor, moreover, it can provide a high level of industrial expertise and many years of experience in taking comparable companies forward.”
Peter Loeffler, the CEO of Bosch Building Technologies’ product business, said that with Triton as its new owner, there will be a strong base for further, profitable growth.
“We will work together to push ahead with innovations in the security and communications area – to the usual high-quality standards and with comprehensive expertise,” Loeffler said. “The entire team is looking forward to making our new company a success and we will remain a reliable partner for our customers.”
Triton Capital, which has raised a total of $19 billion for investment, focuses on European companies in the industrial, healthcare, and business services sectors.
“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Bosch and to be the preferred buyer for the security and communications technology product business units,” said Claus von Hermann, managing partner and co-lead of the Industrial Tech team at Triton.
“We want to support the management and employees to continue the strong growth trajectory that this business recently saw by providing not only capital, but also our know-how from having owned and successfully developed other companies in the security space.”
SEN spoke to several local contacts, including a long-time Bosch distributor, after the announcement. The local team is said to be delighted with the sale, as well as with Triton’s stated intentions to grow the business.
Bosch is long been one of ANZ’s most respected electronic security brands, with key products in the areas of alarms, access control, video surveillance and management software, including a particularly deep history in the development of functional video content analytics.
