Geutebruck reports the BriefCam video analytic solution integrates with its enterprise-class video management system (VMS).

The comprehensive video content analytics platform utilizes the extracted and aggregated video metadata, such as men, women, children, facial recognition, appearance similarity, vehicles, background changes, size, colour, speed, path, direction and dwell time. This is said to enable users to accelerate investigations, attain situational awareness and derive operational intelligence for data-driven safety, security and operational decision-making.

“We are very pleased to announce the partnership with BriefCam and feel its capabilities compliment Geutebrück products. The BriefCam complete video content analytics platform drives exponential value from surveillance system investments by making video searchable, actionable and quantifiable,” said Geutebrück president, J. Terry Ottinger.

BriefCam retrieves recorded video from Geutebrück’s servers using the MIPS SDK, according to a press release. After the initial setup, the user is presented with the list of licensed cameras in which the user can select any number of cameras from which video will be retrieved. After selecting the desired time, the Geutebrück plug-in copies the video from the Geutebrück server to the BriefCam server and begins processing.

The solution offers real-time and on-demand video processing applications. In this application, BriefCam can receive a continuous real-time video stream from the MIPS SDK. The analytics platform then processes and analyzes the video while in progress and generates alerts that match pre-set rules and conditions.

These real-time alerts are sent to the Geutebrück servers for creating an event and triggering an action, such as a pop-up alert. In this case, the video is not saved locally on BriefCam’s server, only objects that match the rule conditions. The video is then tagged as an event on the Geutebrück server and searchable.
