Cairns Regional Council Seeks LPR System – Cairns Regional Council has released a tender calling for the implementation of a licence plate recognition management system (LPRMS) to monitor and regulate parking in the city’s business district and surrounding areas.
The council is seeking submissions from experienced and qualified providers capable of delivering a complete system, including supply, installation, maintenance, and ongoing support. The LPRMS will form a core component of council’s broader smart city parking enforcement strategy, enabling automated vehicle detection and improved compliance.
According to the tender, submissions must be uploaded through the designated tender portal using the forms provided. Late, verbal, or emailed responses may not be accepted.
Enquiries must be lodged via the online forum by 5 days prior to the deadline. Council officers will not respond to verbal requests, and all communication must go through the formal Q&A process.
The awarded system will remain valid for 120 days from submission and may be subject to revised specifications prior to contract award. Council reserves the right to invite revised responses following any changes to the scope.
