City of Greater Dandenong CCTV Renewal Process Opens.
City of Greater Dandenong CCTV Renewal – City of Dandenong in Melbourne has opened expressions of interest (EOI) for phase 1 of its CCTV Renewal Project.
This EOI phase focuses on upgrading both software and hardware components of the existing CCTV infrastructure. The primary goal is to replace current systems with a modern, centralized video management system and to upgrade supporting servers and hard drive hardware.
This upgrade aims to enhance security, efficiency, integration, and reduce long-term operational costs. Additionally, the project will explore implementing video surveillance as a service (VSaaS), leveraging cloud solutions for scalability and real-time monitoring.
Key objectives of the project include consolidating all CCTV systems into one unified network to improve system integrity, compatibility, and accessibility, particularly for Victoria Police.
The winning tenderer will also be addressing existing performance issues with cameras, enhancing system scalability for future expansions, and upgrading data analytics capabilities to proactively identify security threats and operational inefficiencies are also central goals.
The hardware upgrade requires supplying and installing new National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA) compliant servers and high-performance hard drives, ensuring compatibility with existing CCTV equipment. It will also include the capability for accurate people and vehicle counting reports, accessible via dashboard and API.
For software, the project will involve upgrading to an NDAA-compliant VMS that integrates seamlessly with existing CCTV hardware and the Victoria Police network. Training and support for system users are required as part of this upgrade.
Testing and validation procedures are mandatory, ensuring that all new components function correctly and meet performance and reliability standards. Comprehensive documentation, including user manuals and system maps, will be required to validate the rollout and demonstrate future-proofing.
The selected provider must also offer post-installation support, ongoing maintenance, and warranty coverage for hardware and software components.
This City of Greater Dandenong CCTV renewal tender closes at 2pm on April 8 – you can find out moe and apply here or read more SEN news here.
