Dahua Face Recognition From Hills

Dahua DHI-AS17213X-T1 From Hills is a face recognition access control module with a 7-inch curved 2.5D LCD screen and a 2MP camera with a CMOS sensor with auto white and IR illumination, and 120dB of WDR.

According to Hills’ Ardel Moore, although the unit is compact, it’s an extremely powerful solution that complies with ONVIF and OSDP protocols.

“Dahua’s AS17213X-T1 face recognition module can hold 100,000 users, 100,000 face images, 100,000 cards, 100,000 password, 50 administrators, and 300,000 records, as well as driving access control functionality via face recognition, IC card, password, or a combination of these methods,” Moore said.

Operationally, the largest face among faces the appear at the same time is recognized first; the maximum face size can be configured remotely using a browser interface. Face recognition speed is high at 0.2 seconds per face based on 360 facial positions, and the unit supports liveness detection.

Face-camera distance is from 0.3m to 2m, user height range is from 0.9–2.4m, while lens-ground distance is 1.4m. Importantly, this unit supports mask detection, duress alarm, tamper alarm, intrusion alarm, door contact timeout alarm, and illegal card exceeding threshold alarm. It can also be configured to support general users, patrol users, VIP users, guest users, and special users.

The aluminium alloy, tempered glass and polycarbonate unit is 302.6mm x 129mm x 32mm, weighs around 2kg, draws 24 watts and has an operating range of –10C to 55C. It can also use its integrated camera to provide local surveillance coverage.

Peripheral card reader options are supported via RS-485 or Wiegand and card reading distance is 3cm. When it comes to operation, there’s a status indicator light that shows red for error, green for normal and blue when working. There’s also a voice prompt.

Other features include a USB2.0 port, a gigabit ethernet port, 2 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs, an alarm linkage, an exit button and door stature detection, lock control, anti-passback, tamper, duress, intrusion detection, door sensor timeout and illegal card exceeding threshold.

“With the general advice health authorities are giving to people, such as keeping social distance, meeting people in open spaces and mask wearing, we are finding that the demand from SI’s with customers seeking help from innovative technologies like facial recognition is on the increase,” Moore said.

‘As people begin to head back into the office, providing an environment that makes employees feel safe could not be more important for employers. People need a way to reduce physical contact as much as possible, and that’s where facial recognition-enabled touchless access control comes in.”

Dahua’s FACT series Face Recognition Access Control Terminal has focused on four distinct features: FAST recognition speed, highly ACCURATE recognition rate, CONVENIENT to use, and TRUSTED privacy protection.

‘Dahua’s Face Recognition Access Control is unquestionably one of the technologies that has gained increased awareness during the pandemic.” Moore said.
