Electronic security upgrade for Wilfred Lopes Centre – Tasmania’s Department of Health has floated a future tender to be released November 30 seeking suppliers to upgrade, maintain and support electronic security systems at the Wilfred Lopes Centre in Risdon Vale.
The Wilfred Lopes Centre is a 35-bed forensic mental health facility near Risdon Prison in Hobart. While not part of Risdon Prison, the centre provides care and treatment for people involved in the criminal justice system who require inpatient forensic mental health support.
The centre accommodates high dependency, extended care, and semi-independent patients and includes individuals who are inmates, on remand, appearing in court, or found not guilty by reason of insanity. This project will involve the supply, upgrade and maintenance of electronic security systems across the facility.
