BRITISH homeowners are willing to spend up to £8,500 on home security measures like CCTV and intruder alarms, new research shows. Two thirds of respondents to a YouGov survey said they’d buy top of the range monitored alarm gear. And 52 per cent of respondents said they would consider a CCTV system that overlooks doors, windows and perimeters. According to an Info4Security report, results showed fear of intrusion sees a third of respondents wanting to live in a gated community despit the fact it adds 25 per cent to the cost of a home.
