HealthSafe will become the first New Zealand business to introduce a TGA approved thermal image camera after adding the technology to its SecurePass solution.
“Over the last 12 months, HealthSafe has been approached by multiple thermal image providers from across the world, for an integration that can support accurately reading a person’s temperature,” said HealthSafe’s Kevin McAfee.
“Every time we’ve been approached we have asked the simple question, ‘are you medically approved or TGA Certified?’ If the answer is no, then we didn’t go there. Approved thermal imaging is now critical for any business to support today’s risks of someone unwell entering a site.
“While it is important to advise very clearly that medically certified thermal image cameras do not identify an illness or even COVID, they do identify risk from medically approved devices to identify and validate an individual’s temperature accurately.”
According to McAfee, aged care, healthcare, government, construction, education, councils, airports, industry and many more organisations would benefit from use of the technology to enhance their safety procedures.
