HID And ASSA ABLOY Partner On BG100 Biometric eGate – HID and ASSA ABLOY have introduced a new biometric eGate solution designed to streamline airport passenger processing.
The BG100 Speedgate integrates HID’s Facepod facial recognition technology and document reader with ASSA ABLOY’s established gate hardware, creating a unified system aimed at improving both security and user experience.
HID Facepod combines facial recognition algorithms, high-performance cameras, and touchscreen interfaces, with smart LED indicators to guide passengers through the process. The system is designed to handle key touchpoints across the airport journey — including boarding, immigration, and lounge access — providing a contactless, secure alternative to traditional manual checks.
Meanwhile, ASSA ABLOY has delivered a modular gate design that supports rapid installation and adaptability to different environments. Built for use in high-traffic areas, the gate includes anti-tailgating, piggybacking, and wrong-way detection to prevent unauthorised access, and is offered in various colours and configurations to suit airport aesthetics and infrastructure.
The BG100 Speedgate received a Red Dot Award for Product Design 2025 in the interior design elements category, recognising the solution’s combination of aesthetics, usability, and technological innovation.
