HID LINQ Centralised Reader Management Solution Previewed.
HID LINQ centralised reader management solution – HID’s new LINQ centralised reader management solution was previewed at GSX in Dallas recently.
HID LINQ is designed to make configuration and updates of physical access systems simpler, faster and way more efficient. At GSX, HID demonstrated how to update multiple HID Signo readers connected to a Mercury controller via OSDP as well as a serial adapter over a USB connection.
“Our initial HID Linq offering is compatible with our entire line of HID Signo readers, and its capabilities will be extended over time across a wide landscape of devices, connectivity and management software,” said Sanjay Roy, senior director for device management at HID.
Signo readers offer support for the widest range of credential technologies, including HID Mobile Access via native Bluetooth and near field communication (NFC) capability. They have ultra secure storage of cryptographic keys on certified secure element hardware, plus a new surface detection feature that allows the reader to automatically recalibrate and optimize read range performance.

Signo readers also include support for open supervised device protocol (OSDP) for secure bidirectional communication. Each reader is also designed to be connected and managed remotely without the need to be physically touched.
“Our vision is to streamline the secure process of remotely managing access control devices and major credential technologies across the full spectrum of on-prem, cloud and mobile deployments.”
