Hikvision Pro Series with ColorVu 3.0 – Hikvision’s Pro Series with ColorVu 3.0, is led by 8MP external camera range of domes and bullets.

Hikvision Pro Series with ColorVu 3.0 is a range of fixed cameras combining full-time colour imaging, AI-driven processing and integrated audio, with the 8MP external models forming the top end of the line-up.

At the centre of the release is the 8MP bullet variant, including models such as DS-2CD2T87G3-LIS2UY/SL, designed for external deployments requiring high resolution, low-light performance and integrated deterrence capability.

The 8MP platform is built around Hikvision’s ColorVu 3.0 imaging, which delivers 24/7 colour video using an F1.0 super confocal lens and AI-assisted image processing. Unlike conventional day/night switching, the system maintains colour detail in low-light scenes without reliance on supplementary illumination, supported by Smart Hybrid Light when additional illumination is required.

Image quality is further enhanced by the HikAI-ISP processing engine, which applies AI noise reduction to improve both motion rendering and static detail. This is paired with AI 3D LUT colour correction, designed to restore accurate colour reproduction at night, and adaptive AI WDR, which automatically balances exposure to avoid highlight loss or shadow detail compression.

From a detection perspective, the 8MP models incorporate AcuSense 3.0 analytics, combining motion detection with deep learning classification of people and vehicles. This supports perimeter protection functions including intrusion detection and line crossing, while reducing nuisance alarms caused by environmental factors such as vehicle lighting. Hikvision claims false alarms related to such conditions can be reduced by up to 90 per cent following algorithm upgrades.

Search capability is extended through AcuSearch, allowing operators to select a target within recorded footage and retrieve related clips with a single action, reducing investigation time across large datasets.

Audio is integrated at a higher level than previous generations, with the 8MP external models offering arrayed dual microphones with pickup distances of up to 10 metres, combined with noise reduction to improve vocal clarity. Selected variants include a Smart PA speaker, enabling two-way audio and active deterrence functions through the camera itself.

Physically, the external 8MP cameras are designed for demanding environments, with anti-corrosion construction rated to NEMA4X and ingress protection to IP67. This supports deployment in coastal and industrial environments, as well as exposed outdoor locations subject to weather and airborne contaminants.

The platform also includes standard VCA functions such as region entry and exit, object removal and intrusion detection, alongside audio and alarm interfaces for integration into broader security systems.
