Hikvision Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu – Hikvision has released the new DS-2CD2387G2H-LI(U) 8MP ColorVu dual illumination fixed day/night turret camera.

The camera has a number of neat features, including smart dual (IR and visible) long range lighting, 130dB of wide dynamic range, H.265/H.264 and H.264+/H.265+ compression technologies, deep learning classification of people and vehicles, an integrated microphone and an IP67 rating against dust and water.

Hikvision Smart Hybrid ColorVu has a 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor delivering a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and delivering a minimum illumination of 0.0008 lux @ F1.0 with AGC on in colour. Given the addition of integrating lightings, the camera’s ability to operate in 0 lux makes this a moot point.

Image settings include rotate mode, saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness, gain, white balance, adjustable by client software or web browser and there are 4 programmable polygon privacy masks and day/night options, as well as BLC, HLC, 3D DNR and SNR around 52dB.

Basic event motion detection of people and vehicles can drive alarms and recording, with events detected including line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection, region exiting detection, scene change detection and face capture. The camera supports upload to FTP/NAS/memory card, notification of monitoring centre, trigger recording, trigger capture and sending an email.

There are 2 fixed lens options – 2.8mm giving an angle of view around 109 degrees and 4mm giving around 93 degrees both these lenses have a superfast aperture of F1.0. Both lenses can be adjusted through 360 degrees and tilted 75 degrees.

DORI numbers are solid – the 2.8mm can detect at 89 metres, observe at 35 metres, recognize at 17 metres and identify at 8 metres. Meanwhile the 4mm lens can detect at 109 metres, observe at 43 metres, recognise at 21 metres and identify at 10 metres.

Illumination options include 850nm IR light and white light with a range of up to 40 metres. There’s VBR and CBR vit rate control, scalable video coding (SVC), H.264 and H.265 encoding and 1 fixed region of interest for the main and sub stream.

Audio compression options include G.711, G.722.1, G.726, MP2L2, PCM/MP3 and AAC-LC, with typically lightweight bitrates between 16-320Kbps. The audio system include environmental noise filtering.

There’s a full range of network protocols, simultaneous live viewing of up to 6 channels, API open network video interface (Profile S, Profile G, Profile T), ISAPI, SDK, ISUP, and up to 32 users in 3 user levels: administrator, operator, and user.

Security features include password protection, complicated password, HTTPS encryption, 802.1X authentication (EAP-TLS, EAP-LEAP, EAP-MD5), watermark, IP address filter, basic and digest authentication for HTTP/HTTPS, WSSE and digest authentication for open network video interface, RTP/RTSP over HTTPS, control timeout settings, security audit log, TLS 1.1/1.2/1.3, and host authentication (MAC address).

There’s an RJ45 and a 10 M/100 M self-adaptive Ethernet port, microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC card support up to 512GB, power is 12V DC with a maximum draw of .54mA, the operating range is wide at -30 to 60C, construction is cast alloy and poly, and dimensions are 138.3mm x 115.4mm with a weight of 770g.
