Hikvision Ultra Dome First Impressions

Hikvision Ultra Dome First Impressions

♦ Hikvision Ultra Dome first impressions are very pleasing indeed. It’s a joy to power up a CCTV camera and after trudging through the process – resetting the camera, changing the server range, changing the camera range, re-changing the server range, calling up live view – finding the camera is an absolute ball tearer.

With a slightly long focal length at the wide end, decent resolution and great colour rendition, the Hikvision’s DS-2CD3747G2-LZSU Ultra dome is a real peach and it goes on impressing as light levels slide down under 10 lux, albeit with some motion blur even with my slightly elevated 1/50s minimum shutter setting.

Ultra Dome has a fast F1.0 3.2-9mm varifocal lens, employs H.265 compression (I use default H.264), has an IP67 rating against water and vandals, hustles 130dB of WDR, has 40m of integrated white light, and does neat things like human and vehicle classification.

It’s nicely built, too, with a cast alloy and robust poly construction, a weight of around 1.5kg and dimensions of 227 x 198mm. Full review of the Hikvision Ultra dome coming soon!

Features Of Hikvision’s DS-2CD3747G2-LZSU Ultra dome include:

* Anti-illuminator-reflection
* 4MP resolution
* Efficient H.265+ compression technology
* Water and dust resistant (IP67) and vandal resistant (IK10)
* 130dB true WDR technology
* Audio and alarm interfaces
* Human and vehicle classification.
