HILLS Ltd has filed court documents seeking orders to set aside a statutory demand filed by Milestone Systems, dismiss a wind-up application and for Milestone to pay all costs. Hills has also criticised the specialist press for beating up the affair.
Hills disputes that the service of a statutory demand was properly effected and contends that the proceeding is an abuse of process by Milestone.
David Lenz, CEO of Hills, said the dispute with Milestone – for $56,000 – had been going on for some time, with the heart of the matter being the former Milestone partner program.
“We had hoped that there would be no need to provide comment on this matter given the quantum of the dispute,” Lenz said.
“However, disturbingly, a number of speciality media outlets sought to sensationalise the matter in a one-sided fashion when Hills had clearly indicated it considered the matter to be minor and without merit.”
