Honeywell Launches SCEC-Approved Type 1A Central Supervisory System

Honeywell Building Technologies has launched its Type 1A Central Supervisory System (CSS) designed to meet Type 1A security requirements of the Australian government and its agencies.

The platform was reviewed and approved by the Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC), which is endorsed by the Australian government for the protection of official information and assets.

Honeywell’s Type 1A CSS offers state-of-the-art cybersecurity protection and near real-time threat prevention while enabling a highly flexible, configurable and easily expandable intruder detection and management solution to serve critical high security needs.

The Honeywell Type 1A CSS uses vendor agnostic, internationally recognized secure configuration guidelines and hardened images to safeguard the operating systems, software and networks vulnerable to cyberattack. The system’s portfolio view user interface means Honeywell Type 1A CSS provides security operators with the ability to easily monitor and control high security buildings at 1 or more locations.

The Honeywell Type 1A CSS also includes Honeywell Advanced Endpoint Security, an intuitive and near real-time next generation antivirus. The Type 1A CSS builds upon Honeywell’s high security portfolio, which includes the Honeywell High Security Manager, a Type 1A intruder alarm panel.

“For more than 30 years, Honeywell has provided high security solutions for the Australian government,” said Tom Bain of Honeywell Building Technologies. “Our team is focused on creating highly sophisticated and integrated security offerings for this critical space that’s backed by our experienced projects and services team.”
