Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions has announced its new i-PRO X-Series of network security cameras with built in AI capabilities, distributed locally by BGW Technologies.
“This new camera range, with its open software development kit, offers exciting opportunities to tailor a host of next generation AI applications around the specific needs of business customers,” said Marius Van Der Merwe of Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions.
“Our partners already have a number of innovative additional applications in development for future use with the camera range. We will be announcing a wide range of models releases and more on these applications soon but the benefits of the cameras with these new analytics applications are widespread and vary from enhancing security to helping make a change in the COVID world.”
With its software development kit, the camera range is designed for third party application development that can be tailored to a business customer’s needs. The range includes 6 new models, with 5MP and 4K resolutions available in July 2021 with indoor and outdoor vandal resistant dome or box configurations
In an open platform environment video is captured by a dedicated AI-featured i-PRO network camera with high-accuracy and detection, identification and determination with AI processing becoming available (AI accelerators). A range of applications are already available in the market today.
The new cameras can install up to 3 video analytics applications, with i-PRO applications plus the software development kit included free-of-charge. These applications include:
* i-PRO AI Privacy Mask: To protect privacy and portrait rights, it is possible to automatically apply a mosaic to the entire face and figure of a person in view of the camera.
* i-PRO AI Sound Classification: The AI application detects and identifies sounds (gunshots, screaming of a person, vehicle horns and breaking glass) that sends a warning notification according to the sound identified.
* i-PRO AI Face Detection: The i-PRO X-Series camera utilizing an AI engine realize real-time face detection without an expensive face recognition server. AI detection enables highly accurate face detection, and is also effective for detection in low lighting, backlit environments, or for detecting faces obscured by masks.
* i-PRO People Detection: Characteristics of the human face and clothing are extracted and classified into useful categories such as gender, age and clothing colour. This abundant attribute information can then be searched to easily find the target person (to use in conjunction with the multi AI server)
* i-PRO Vehicle Detection: Vehicle characteristics are extracted and classified into useful categories such as type and colour. This abundant attribute information can then be searched to easily find the target. LPR function on the edge will be released soon to compliment the application.
AI-VMD can detect any human, vehicle, 2-wheel motorcycle or bicycle and can be used for intrusion detection, identifying loitering, direction detection and many more applications. The AI engine enables alarm triggers, based upon predefined parameters, at a higher level of accuracy than ever before.
The new i-PRO X-Series employ an AI engine with on-board analytics to detect suspicious changes in scenes, automatically adjust image settings of the scene being analysed, and optimise video compression to conserve network bandwidth and server storage capacities.
