IDEMIA Wins 10-Year SmartGate Extension After Gen3 Kiosk Upgrade.

IDEMIA Wins 10-Year SmartGate Extension – Authentication solutions developer IDEMIA has won a 10-year extension of its contract to support Australia’s SmartGate border control system.

The extension came after IDEMIA completed a partial Gen3 Kiosk upgrade of the border technology in the arrivals halls of 8 Australian international airports, including Darwin, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Coolangatta, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney airport.

This latest 10-year agreement enables IDEMIA to continue developing and upgrading Australia’s environment with the latest technology, and serves as an extension of its support and maintenance services for the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

IDEMIA’s end-to-end border control solution comprising of kiosks and Smart Gates to Australia’s international airports incorporates biometrics functionality and capability for travellers. Travellers complete an initial 1:1 verification against their passport at the Gen3 Kiosk, which enables a face match when they present themselves at the SmartGate.
