In Memory of Matthew Fisher – Australia’s electronic security industry has lost one of its brightest and most respected figures, Matthew Fisher of Avigilon, writes Jonathan Liaros.
Matthew, a stalwart of the field, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, mentorship, and genuine kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Matthew’s career in the electronic security industry spanned decades, during which he worked his way up from humble beginnings to become a trusted leader and innovator. Most recently, he held the role of senior sales director at Avigilon, where his expertise and dedication not only drove success but also inspired those around him.
A natural mentor and father figure to many, Matthew had an unparalleled ability to connect with people on both a professional and personal level. His infectious kindness, coupled with a deep sense of trustworthiness, made him a cherished colleague and confidant. Those fortunate enough to work with him often described how his vast life experience gave him a unique perspective, allowing him to provide sage advice and guidance in both work and life.
Beyond his professional achievements, Matthew was a deeply devoted family man. He leaves behind 3 beautiful children — Joshua, Andrew, and Paige — who were the light of his life, and 5 cherished grandchildren who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his loving partner, Leeanne, whose unwavering support and love were central to his happiness.
Matthew’s sudden passing has left an indelible void in the hearts of all who knew him. We still can’t believe he’s gone and find ourselves yearning for one more conversation, one more piece of advice, and one more moment to experience the warmth and wisdom he radiated.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the countless memories he created. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Matthew. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
