INGRAM Micro has signed a distribution agreement with Dahua Technology, bringing global video surveillance solutions to the New Zealand market.

The world’s second largest CCTV manufacturer, Dahua Technology provides end-to-end security solutions, including IP CCTV and advanced access control, intercom and alarm systems. In addition, the China-based vendor also specialises within the wireless market, with expertise across 4G and solar-powered categories.

“Dahua is a driving force in the video surveillance industry with more than 5,000 R&D engineers and currently invests ten per cent of its annual sales revenue in research,” Ingram Micro business manager for specialist brands James Harwood said.

“The company works on the cutting edge of camera lens, image sensor, video encoding and transmission, embedded processor, graphic processing, video analytics and network security technologies.”

Adding to the distributor’s expanding security portfolio in New Zealand, Dahua provides video surveillance products across a range of industries, including banking, public security, energy, telecommunication, intelligent-building and intelligent-transportation.

“Dahua has an extensive product portfolio and can offer solutions that range from entry level to highly sophisticated configurations that incorporate environmental, thermal and long-range capabilities,” Harwood added.

“We regard our appointment as a strategic partnership to grow Dahua’s market share in New Zealand, and we expect great things for this brand.”

Harwood said Ingram Micro already has a team of “highly-trained, technical solutions specialists” in place, which are available to partner with resellers to design configurations to match end-user requirements.

“We are effectively providing resellers with the capability to offer full end-to-end security solutions without them needing to have their own in-house specialist engineering and design teams,” he added.

“At the same time, Dahua, through its scale and volume of manufacturing, offers extremely competitive solutions and pricing, with specifications and technology that easily compete with and exceed brands that have been historically strong in New Zealand security.

“Our Dahua partnership means that our reseller partners have the opportunity to make margins that they rarely see these days with more traditional IT products.

“The IP-based nature of the solutions makes Dahua an offering they can provide to existing and new clients while managing their networks.” ♦
