Inovonics has launched Inovonics mobile duress, which provides precise internal location when someone activates an Inovonics pendant.

Built upon the Inovonics Cloud platform, the solution combines Inovonics hardware with software and API tools for easy integration and data access.

With mobile duress pendants, or panic buttons, security systems can easily associate a fixed pendant with a specific location upon installation. However, determining indoor location when someone activates a body worn pendant has been difficult.

While cell phone apps can help pinpoint location using GPS technology, GPS cannot distinguish between floors, and it takes precious time for someone to access and activate a phone app. Responders know there’s a person in trouble but not where they are.

Inovonics says its mobile duress system solves this problem by delivering an innovative location solution for responders so that they know precisely where to go in an emergency. The system uses secure wireless devices located on each floor to establish precise location.

Easy to install and cost effective to deploy, Inovonics mobile duress works in concert with any existing security system, sending location details directly into a central station monitoring, access control or an IP-based application.
