Ipswich City Council Seeks Electronic Security Services Provider For Safe City System And Council Assets.

Ipswich City Council Seeks Electronic Security – Ipswich City Council has released a tender seeking experienced suppliers to provide electronic security services supporting its public safety and corporate security infrastructure.

The council is seeking one or more suppliers to support the maintenance, operation and reporting of electronic security assets across its network. The scope is intended to maintain system reliability while reducing operational costs and extending the service life of installed equipment. The tender is divided into 2 separable portions covering the council’s Safe City public safety network and its internal corporate security systems.

Separable portion 1 relates to the Safe City Network, a standalone IP-based surveillance network supporting public safety monitoring across Ipswich. The contract covers the design, maintenance and security of the network, including installation and servicing of cameras and associated devices connected to the Safe City infrastructure.

Suppliers responding to this portion will be required to manage the surveillance network as an integrated platform supporting the Safe City Monitoring Facility. The council notes that information technology capability will be a key requirement, given the network architecture and operational management of the system.

Separable portion 2 relates to asset protection and corporate security systems operating across council-owned and occupied buildings. This component covers installation and maintenance of electronic security devices connected to the council’s corporate network.

Systems within scope include video surveillance cameras, recording infrastructure including Genetec Streamvault archivers, and access control equipment including Gallagher controllers and card readers deployed across council facilities.

Ipswich City Council is in south-east Queensland and serves one of the fastest-growing urban regions in the state. The local government area includes a large network of public facilities, community infrastructure and transport corridors requiring ongoing electronic security monitoring and asset protection.

The council’s Safe City program, once of the oldest public safety systems in Australia, forms part of its broader public safety strategy, using networked surveillance infrastructure to support monitoring of public spaces monitoring by QPS to enhance safety and speed up response times.

This Ipswich City Council Seeks Electronic Security tender closes at 12pm on March 27 – you can learn more here or read more SEN news here.
