Jettech Networks Wins Smart Cities Award

Jettech Networks has won the Smart Cities Award for its City of Hobart CCTV application in the Axis Partner of the Year Awards.

“This week my team were recognised for our efforts developing and constructing City of Hobart’s ‘Smart Cities’ program, by Axis Communications,” said Jettech’s Anders Marchant.

“The project to date has involved installing many hundreds of Axis IP cameras, interconnected across the city providing security and analytic services. It has been one of the most interesting projects I have managed, supported by dedicated colleagues and a brilliant team at City of Hobart.

“We’d like to thank the team at Axis, and its distribution partners, for assisting us in sourcing necessary equipment during a difficult year for suppliers.”

In partnership with Tasmanian Police, the City of Hobart owns and operates the Safe City network of public safety cameras that create a safer environment in Hobart.

In 2021, the Australian Federal Government provided $A855,000 to Hobart City Council to fund 83 new fixed and 2 moveable CCTV cameras to enhance its existing CCTV system.
