Lockwood Synergy 3570 Series Cylinder Mortice Locks

Lockwood Synergy 3570 Series Cylinder – Lockwood Synergy 3570 series cylinder mortise locks from ASSA ABLOY offer a 4-hour fire rating, high security levels and durability.

Synergy 3570 series locks feature high-purity zinc alloy cases and stainless-steel cover plates, with brass plates for plated finishes also available. The lock springs are high-grade spring steel and corrosion-protected, while the cylinder retaining pin is a hard-drawn spring steel wire that’s corrosion protected.

Latchbolts are 15mm, stainless steel and dead latching is achieved by an auxiliary stainless steel latch bolt. This auxiliary bolt retracts when the main latch bolt is withdrawn when the door is closed.

All Synergy Series Cylinder Mortice Locks conform with Level S2 (Physical Security) Australian Lock Standard (AS-4145.2-1993), with a Level S3 (Physical Security) version also available. Cylinders are a bump-resistant 5-pin tumbler mechanism with standard Lockwood oval-shaped brass cylinders and brass barrels.

Standard keying includes 2 keys per lock with 78,000 potential key combinations, while restricted special keying options range from legally protected keys to protect against unauthorised duplication and can also include specially designed keying systems such as master key systems. This allows for different levels of mechanical access control.

Lockwood Synergy Series mortice locks have been successfully tested for up to 4 hours (depending on the type of doorset) on fire door assemblies in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1905.1-2005, Part 1: Fire Resistant Doorsets. The locks also conform with level D3 (Durability) Australian Lock Standard (AS 4145.2-1993).

Backset options include a 60mm standard, as well as extended 89 and 127mm options. Meanwhile, door thicknesses include 32-50mm for Synergy Series locks, while 3579 Series SCEC locks can handle 35.5mm thicknesses, with components to suit thicker doors available if required.

Installers should note that to ensure the correct functioning of the dead latching mechanism and security for all locks, the clearance between the door and the frame should ideally be 3mm. The deadlatching mechanism will operate up to 8mm door clearance; however, clearances over 5mm are not recommended.

Finishing options include satin chrome brushed, chrome plate, and polished brass – Lockwood Synergy series mortise locks are compatible with most electric strikes – you can find out more here or read more SEN news here.
