Maryvale Solar Battery Site Will Seek CCTV, Security – PCL Constructors is seeking contractors to supply and install both temporary and permanent security systems at the Maryvale Solar and Energy Storage Project, located 12km north-west of Wellington in NSW.
The Maryvale development includes approximately 240MWp of photovoltaic capacity and 409MWh of battery energy storage. The system will be DC-coupled and designed to export 172MW of power to the grid. The installation incorporates up to 400,000 PV panels mounted on single-axis trackers with approximately 122 battery enclosures in standard container format.
Construction is set to begin in July 2025, with peak workforce numbers expected to reach 360 during the 2-year build, with a mid-late 2027 completion date for the facility.
The package for a temporary security system is due by June 30, 2025, while the permanent CCTV supply and install package is due August 12, 2025. Both packages relate to securing a large-scale infrastructure project in an open rural environment and may incorporate scalable perimeter detection, mobile surveillance capability, and long-term monitoring infrastructure.
The Maryvale site will become a significant renewable generation and storage hub in the Central West of NSW, requiring robust and flexible electronic security systems during both construction and operational phases.
