MCS Delivers Trailer for Crocodile Detection Project – MCS has designed and delivered a purpose-built, off-road trailer to support the deployment of a new crocodile detection system currently being trialled in North Queensland by the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science, and Innovation (DETSI).
Designed for long-term remote deployments, the trailer was engineered to withstand harsh environmental conditions while providing a stable and reliable platform for advanced monitoring technology. Its off-road capability enables researchers and field teams to access locations that would otherwise be difficult to service using conventional equipment.
According to MCS’ managing director, Mark Swan, the project highlights MCS’s capability in delivering specialised engineering and manufacturing solutions for unique and demanding applications.
“From concept through to fabrication and deployment, the trailer was designed to meet the project’s specific operational requirements while ensuring reliability in remote field conditions,” Swan said.

As announced by MCS. Trailer dimensions, power supply and the crocodile detection technology itself are not detailed in this release — the trailer is the platform, not the sensor.
“MCS is proud to be associated with this innovative technology being developed by DETSI. We see it as a valuable platform with the potential to improve public safety and help save lives, reflecting our commitment to delivering practical, purpose-built engineering solutions.”
