Milesight Q Series Dome Camera Delivers 8MP, NDAA Compliance And 50 Metres Of IR.
Milesight Q Series Dome Camera – Milesight’s C8175-PD/Q/W dome camera, part of the Q Series, is a compact 8MP AI dome unit designed for high-resolution surveillance in environments requiring robust weather and impact resistance.
The Q dome camera supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 20fps and features Milesight Smart Stream compression for reduced bandwidth and storage consumption. The camera is NDAA-compliant and built around a 1/2.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor delivering day/night performance along with IR support to 50m.
Low light capability is rated to 0.012 lux in colour and 0 lux with IR active, while Milesight’s Super WDR technology achieves a dynamic range of 120dB, allowing for effective performance in high-contrast or backlit scenes.
The lens has a focal length of 2.8mm unit with F1.6 aperture offering a 110-degree horizontal field of view and solid depth of field. Additional 4mm and 6mm lens options are available, providing adjusted coverage angles depending on installation requirements, while iris and focus control are automatic or manual depending on mode.
Compression formats supported include H.265+/H.265, H.264+/H.264, and MJPEG, with bit rates ranging from 16Kbps to 16Mbps. The camera supports 3 video streams simultaneously and allows up to 8 ROI zones and 4 privacy masking areas. Network protocols supported are extensive and include IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, RTSP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, NTP, SNMP, SIP, IGMP, and more. Compatibility includes ONVIF Profiles G, Q, S, and T.
AI analytics include human and vehicle classification, as well as region entrance/exit, line crossing, loitering, object left/removed, and advanced motion detection. There’s also integrated people counting capability with report generation. Audio is not supported, but SIP is implemented for intercom-style functions, and video can be streamed to mobile SIP endpoints. Event triggers and actions include FTP, SMTP, SD card recording, external outputs, and HTTP notifications.
The onboard microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot supports cards up to 256GB. Network storage via NAS is supported with SMB/CIFS and NFS protocols. Power is via PoE (802.3af) or 12VDC with max draw listed at 8.4W including IR. The camera has an IK10 metal housing for impact resistance and an IP67 rating for dust and water ingress. Dimensions are 130 x 115mm and weight is 780g.
Operating temperature range is -40°C to 60°C and the unit is certified for operation in non-condensing environments up to 90 per cent humidity. Advanced image handling includes 2D/3D DNR, HLC, BLC, de-fog, corridor mode, AGC, and defocus detection. Warranty is 3 years as standard, with 5 years available via extension.
