New Avigilon H6A Fisheye Camera – BGW Technologies has introduced the new Avigilon H6A fisheye camera.

“Security isn’t just about cameras and technology – it’s about people,” says BGW Technologies’ product manager for Avigilon, Peter Ha.

“It’s about protecting businesses, keeping employees safe, and giving peace of mind to those who rely on strong security measures every day – whether it’s a small business owner locking up at night or a security team monitoring a busy shopping centre, having the right tools makes all the difference.”

That’s where the new H6A fisheye camera from Avigilon, available from BGW Technologies, comes in.

According to Ha, the H6A fisheye camera, is more than just a piece of hardware, it allows users to capture every detail in the highest quality. It’s also a smart and intuitive security solution designed to keep spaces safe.

Available in 180-degree and 360-degree panoramic models delivering uninterrupted angles of view, the H6A Fisheye has AI-powered analytics, and a sleek, low-profile design. Along with 12MP high-definition video clarity, there are cutting-edge audio analytics to detect and analyse distinctive sounds, with optional recording available.

“The H6A fisheye camera was built with the needs of security professionals in mind,” says Ha. “The camera was designed to provide superior situational awareness while ensuring ease of installation and integration with existing security systems, it’s expansive surveillance coverage with a focus on ease of installation and advanced analytics, make it a compelling choice for security installers”, continues Ha.

“Avigilon’s goal was to create a camera that didn’t just capture video but actively enhances security through intelligent AI-powered analytics,” he explains. “With its ability to detect and alert on unusual activities, security teams can respond faster and more effectively to potential threats.”

The H6A is designed for easy installation, with options for surface or in-ceiling mounting. Its compact form factor and paintable front plate allow it to blend into various settings, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Additionally, the camera’s web interface facilitates easy configuration and management, streamlining the setup process for installers.

Equipped with advanced video analytics, the camera can proactively detect and alert on unusual activities, enhancing situational awareness and enabling quicker responses to incidents. Avigilon has integrated vehicle analytics into the 180-degree models – this new functionality allows users to monitor and identify vehicles more precisely.

Traditionally, object analysis lacked the ability to detect persons from directly above – the H6A has the new ability to detect persons directly under the camera. Meanwhile, advanced audio analytics and an optional built-in microphone, providing the ability to monitor and respond to auditory events such as gunshots or breaking glass.

The H6A seamlessly integrates with other ONVIF-compliant devices, ensuring flexibility in system design. The camera is also FIPS 140-2 compliant, meeting stringent security standards.

“With a low-profile, paintable front plate, the H6A fisheye camera is designed to suit any environment. It’s also tough, with an IK10 impact rating, meaning it can withstand knocks and tampering, and thanks to its advanced Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), it delivers clear images even in tricky lighting conditions”.
