New Axis TP3604-E Cellular Back Box For AXIS P32 And AXIS P14 Cameras.

New Axis TP3604-E Cellular Back Box – Axis Communications has released the AXIS TP3604-E Cellular Back Box, an all-in-one device designed to connect Axis cameras directly to private cellular networks without the need for fixed infrastructure.

The unit is designed for use with AXIS P32 and AXIS P14 camera ranges and enables deployment over existing private cellular networks, offering an alternative to fibre or wired backhaul. This removes the need for trenching or cabling, allowing cameras to be installed in locations where traditional connectivity is impractical or too expensive.

The TP3604-E delivers uplink performance suitable for video applications, with high bandwidth and low latency supporting live monitoring and analytics. According to Axis, performance over private cellular networks can match fibre in terms of image delivery, supported by onboard technologies, including Zipstream and AV1 codec to optimise bandwidth without reducing image quality.

The Axis TP3604-E Cellular Back Box supports encrypted SIM connectivity, providing a secure link to the network, and is designed to operate with leading private cellular network providers. This allows deployment across wide geographic areas, extending surveillance coverage while maintaining centralised monitoring capability.

The back box is designed for simple installation, with each unit supporting a single camera and capable of being powered via mains supply from infrastructure such as light poles or existing midspan devices. The form factor enables direct integration with supported Axis camera models, creating a compact, self-contained deployment.

You can learn more about Axis products here – note this unit is not available in ANZ yet – you’ll need to have a chat with your local suppliers to get a sense of availability. In the meantime, there’s more SEN news here.
