New Genetec Synergis Cloud Link
♦ New Genetec Synergis Cloud Link – new Genetec Synergis Cloud Link provides security professionals a secure means for connections to a hybrid or cloud environment.
The new PoE-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) gateway is designed for access control applications, and according to Genetec, the product addresses the growing demand for non-proprietary access control solutions that require a safe and secure cloud gateway for cloud or hybrid systems.
The new gateway is a capable solution with plenty of scope for expansion, supporting up to 256 readers and electronic locks, 600,000 cardholders, 150,000 offline events, as well as monitoring hundreds of detection zones and other alarms.
“The need for non-proprietary access control solutions has never been greater,” says Thibault Louvet, access control product group director, Genetec.
“Our new generation Synergis Cloud Link enables us to provide organizations with a powerful, secure and intelligent gateway to the latest technology while allowing them to easily connect to hybrid or Cloud access control environments and keep their existing security investment including hardware, wiring and infrastructure.”
When modernizing existing systems, the Synergis Cloud Link enables integrators to easily upgrade their clients’ current access control infrastructure to a secure IP-based solution. The gateway is said to provide an efficient approach to multisite deployments, and it replaces the need for servers to reduce overall system costs.
Synergis Cloud Link IoT gateway also incorporates embedded functionalities to support access control functions in situations where the connection to the server is down. There’s also enhanced cybersecurity capabilities, and through those technologies, the Synergis Cloud Link offers encrypted user data, secure boot options, and an EAL6+ secure element that stores cryptographic elements.
The unit works with access control products from companies such as HID Global, Axis Communications, ASSA ABLOY, Mercury Security, Allegion, SimonsVoss and others.
