New Mobile Security Distribution Business Launches In Victoria – A new mobile security distributor, CAME BPT Victoria, has slid open its doors in Melbourne.
New Mobile Security Distribution Business Launches In Victoria – CAME BPT Victoria is headed by Rob Rosa, formerly of QSS and Hills, and holds distribution rights to the entire product range of Don Tummillo’s established SFERE.
Tummillo said the idea for CAME BPT Victoria evolved out of a series of conversations he had with Rosa covering SFERE’s desire for product representation nationally, and Rosa’s first-hand recognition of key pain points for security installers and integrators.
Rosa knew a real challenge was supply logistics, especially with complex integrations. Another difficulty he’d identified was shrinking margins in areas like CCTV. Thinner margins are nudging security installers into new areas, including vehicle access solutions, which form a key part of the Came BPT Victoria range.
Combining these elements, the pair conceived CAME BPT Victoria, an independent mobile security distribution business based in Victoria with unfettered access to the extensive SFERE product range, which includes CAME, BPT, ALULA, DaVinci, PDK and IVSEC to name a few.
According to Tummillo, key to extending the reach of SFERE’s product footprint was establishing a distribution presence in Victoria with a local partner who understood the market.
“Rob’s got the right relationships and the right business ethics,” Tummillo said. “And he’s not starting from scratch with product range – these are established brands with decades of history.”
CAME BPT Victoria’s key point of difference is a mobile-first distribution model operating out of a distribution facility and includes fully fitted-out mobile vans acting as both delivery vehicles and mobile showrooms.
“We’re not spending money on leasing premises – we’re investing it into getting product directly to the installers,” Rosa explained. “This means we’ve got stock on hand in Victoria, and can deliver it same day in many cases.”
Tummillo said a central aim of the business model was to reduce the friction many installers face sourcing complete solutions from multiple suppliers.
“This is about providing those complete solutions for specialised security applications – not just boxes,” Tummillo said.
“With complex integrations, including boom gates, bollards, intercoms, access control and CCTV, installers get everything they need from CAME BPT Victoria, with one point of contact and one platform, and they have the product delivered to their door.”

Rosa, who is now fully focused on distribution after a stint on the installation side, said his decision to return to supply came after getting a taste of the challenges installers face daily, especially with shrinking margins and juggling suppliers.
Rosa said the high-margin product opportunities in automation and access control hardware had been overlooked by installers and integrators in the past, but many were now paying much greater attention to areas like vehicle access.
“Everyone talks about access control, but it’s often just card readers and controllers,” Rosa said. “Installers don’t always know where to get boom gates, road blockers or turnstiles – instead they will outsource the most profitable elements of the job. What we’re doing is filling that gap – not only with quality products but with the expertise that can take them to the next level.”
According to Rosa, the change in focus from installation to distribution with a difference had been highly energising and the business model was a win-win for SFERE and for CAME BPT Victoria.
“I’m excited to be back in distribution, especially with this broader product range,” Rosa said.
“There’s only so many megapixel cameras you can sell – this is something completely different with a product spread that delivers installers and integrators far better margins right to their doorstep.”
Looking ahead, Tummillo said CAME BPT Victoria plans to replicate the model nationally.
“Once we’ve bedded things down in Victoria, we’ll certainly be talking together about rolling the business out in Queensland and South Australia,” he said.
