New Salto Orion Face Recognition Credential Free Access.
New Salto Orion Face Recognition — Salto Systems is launching a new face recognition biometrics access control product that works with existing electronic Salto door locks.
Salto Orion biometrics access control system users enrol via the secure Orion Enrolment Service web app, then scan their faces at a Orion-C access control terminal to gain access. Speed of response is typically less than 1 second.
Liveness Detection is a seamless element to the system, which takes place simultaneously with recognition, requiring no additional action by the end user. This passive liveness detection has achieved top rankings in the NIST FATE PAD evaluation.

The software and hardware installation and the commissioning process are automated and simplified, making installation simpler and faster.
Meanwhile, the Orion-C terminal enables convenient access for any user of a Salto access point, requiring only face as a credential. The minimalist design and intuitive interface of the Orion-C terminal ensures ease of use and seamless installation.
Orion-C’s minimalist, robust and reliable hardware comprises a modular camera and control unit with multi-colour LED indicator. The UI is intuitive and user-friendly, requiring no physical contact.
With compact dimensions of 81 mm x 121 mm x 53 mm, the Orion-C unit weighs only 238g and features an ABS Nylon cover and concealed fixing screws for greater security and enhanced aesthetics.
Recognition distance is between 0.3-0.6m, maximum distance between the control unit and the Orion-C terminal is 3m using the supplied Cat6 shielded cable, operating temperature is 0 °C to 60 °C.
