Optex REDSCAN Pro RLS-50100V Sensor – The Optex REDSCAN Pro RLS-50100V, distributed locally by BGW Technologies, delivers perimeter protection using LiDAR detection technology with a detection area of 50 x 100 metres (there’s also a 30 x 60 metre model).
The REDSCAN Pro RLS-50100V detects objects with consistent accuracy regardless of lighting conditions. It can precisely measure the size, speed, and location of detected objects, accurately reporting their coordinates. At the same time, the sensors provide detection in fog, snow, and heavy rain using adjustable environmental filters. The sensor has an integrated camera for installation and event verification.
The detection area can be divided into 8 independent zones, each with customizable sensitivity settings. Zones can have different response actions, such as immediate alarm or pre-warning alerts. This allows the sensor to function effectively as multiple independent detectors tailored to specific locations, such as doors or windows.
REDSCAN Pro supports vertical, horizontal, or angled installation (up to 45 degrees) with 3 mounting options: ceiling, wall, and pole mounts. An integrated assistance camera simplifies installation by providing visual alignment and verification. The device features a built-in bracket offering a vertical tilt range of -5 to +95 degrees and software-controlled horizontal adjustments of ±5 degrees.
To maintain accuracy, REDSCAN Pro automatically adjusts its detection area to compensate for changes in ground levels due to seasonal variations, such as snow or leaf accumulation – this automatic adjustment range can be set from 0 to 20 metres. When configured vertically, the system includes a small-animal tolerance mode that reduces unnecessary alarms caused by animals on the ground. This function can be disabled for applications requiring heightened sensitivity at lower heights.
The web interface allows easy setup and management, accessible via standard browsers. Users can configure zones, sensitivity, and alarm settings remotely, significantly simplifying ongoing maintenance and adjustments. For event management, REDSCAN Pro records alarm events and associated camera images internally. Up to 500 events can be stored, allowing easy verification and analysis. Images and logs are securely saved for review, confirming alarm triggers and providing visual evidence.
Communication and integration capabilities are extensive, with Ethernet connectivity (RJ-45), ONVIF Profile S compliance, and support for multiple network protocols (UDP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, IPV4, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NTP). Alarm outputs can directly interface with IP network systems or video management platforms, providing seamless integration into modern security infrastructures.
With IP66 environmental protection against water and dust, and an operating temperature range between -20 and 60C (-40°C with optional heating), REDSCAN Pro is designed to handle indoor and outdoor installations, while its robust housing ensures reliable performance in challenging conditions.
