Optic Wins Double At 2025 New Zealand Security Awards Taking Integrator Of Year And Consultant Of Year.

Optic Wins Double At 2025 New Zealand Security Awards – Optic Security Group has been recognised with 2 major awards at the NZSA’s 2025 New Zealand Security Awards, held last Friday evening in Auckland.

Optic won Security Integrator of the Year and Security Consultant of the Year awards, highlighting its leadership across technical delivery and strategic advisory, according to Optic Security’s managing director, Michael Cunningham.

The Integrator of the Year title was awarded to the group’s Victoria University of Wellington project team, led by Aaron Johnson and including Anthony Taingahue, Ruperake Charles Lave and James Sutherland. The upgrade project was noted for its strong delivery and customer engagement.

“A highly performing team has many component parts,” said Cunningham. “The sum of those parts produces the results, and our Wellington team has set the standard for all of us meet at Optic Security.

“Well done team, you have been recognised for what you have worked hard to deliver, the deep customer relationships built on service and ownership of the results. National champions, we are all very proud of you!”

Optic’s NZ general manager Nik Boeinghoff said the Wellington team’s consistent commitment to client outcomes had set them apart.

“Whether it’s their strong customer service, operational performance, or team collaboration, they continue to set a high standard for others to follow, and it’s truly gratifying to see that effort recognised,” he said.

Meanwhile, group brand strategy & innovation director Nicholas Dynon received the Security Consultant of the Year award. Based in Auckland, Dynon’s recognition follows other recent achievements, including being named Outstanding Contract Security Manager/Director at the 2025 New Zealand OSPAs and inclusion in the LifeSafetyAlliance.org 2025 Top 40 Global Thought Leaders in Security & Life Safety — the first New Zealander to be recognised in the list.

“It’s a great honour to receive this award,” said Dynon. “The opportunities I have to work with such amazing customer organisations is something that sets Optic Security Group apart, and I’d like to acknowledge my talented colleagues who have been critical in my professional development.”

Optic Security Group congratulated all nominees and winners on the night, including Alarm Watch, which won the Outstanding New Product or Service of the Year — a category sponsored by Optic Security.
