BASED on Panasonic’s proven SmartHD technology the WV-SW155 offers all the usual things we’ve come to expect including 720p HD images (1280 x 960) at 30ips and simultaneous H.264 and JPEG image streams courtesy of the company’s UniPhier systems LSI technology.
This includes clever things like video motion detection which can trigger FTP image transfers, email alerts and other alarm outputs. There’s also selectable light control modes to ensure 50/60Hz fluoro lights don’t mess with image quality.
The camera also offers a horizontal range of 104 degrees and a vertical range of 85 degrees and this means the camera is well suited to applications in trains, buses, lifts and other complex spaces. To this end there’s also a privacy zone covering 2 areas where surveillance might not be needed or desirable.
Integral to the camera’s ability to support transit applications is a rugged new vandal-proof housing that’s good looking and tough. Handling imaging for the WV-SW155 is a high sensitivity MOS sensor, while Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch technologies give a dynamic range claimed by Panasonic to be 128x that of conventional cameras.
Day/night performance is strong with 0.8 lux minimum scene illumination in colour and 0/6 lux in monochrome, both at F2.2. There’s also a neat feature called VIQS (Variable Image Quality on Specified area), which allows a designated area to retain higher image quality while the
excluded area will have a decreased image quality, enabling the use of a lower image size and bit rate.
3D-Digital Noise Reduction ensures noise reduction in various
Conditions, while progressive scan ensures clear images with less motion blur and no tearing even when the subject is moving. Electronic sensitivity enhancement settings include Auto (Up to 16x) and Off.
The lightning control will be automatically performed by adjusting shutter speed in the range of ELC and there’s 2x extra zoom under VGA resolution, with 2x, 4x digital zoom controlled by the browser. The camera’s Video Motion Detection has 4 programmable detection areas, 15 steps of sensitivity level and 10 steps of detection size. The face detection function mentioned earlier, detects the position of human face and the information is sent by XML or video stream.
You also get an alphanumeric camera title display on the browser and alarm sources including VMD and Panasonic alarm command can trigger actions such as FTP image transfer, E-mail notification, indication on browser and Panasonic alarm protocol output. Furthermore, JPEG Image compression ratio can be changed by alarm so that a higher quality image can be provided.
One of the video streams can be prioritized when multiple recorders or client PCs are accessing the camera so that the recorder or the client PC can maintain the frame rate.
The WV-SW155 camera has an SDHC/SD Memory card slot for manual recording (H.264 / JPEG), alarm recording (H.264 / JPEG) and backup upon network failure (JPEG). An H.264 maximum bit rate/client and total bit rate control allows flexible network traffic management, while frame rate priority mode controls bit rate and compression ratio to provide the specified frame rate.
Images can be transmitted over the Internet and the cameras are IPv4/IPv6 compliant, support SSL, DDNS (viewnetcam, RFC2136), allow still images (JPEG) to be viewed on mobile phones via Internet and there’s an ONVIF compliant model.
A low profile design allows for discrete installation and the cameras are IP66 rated for water and dust resistance and are compatible with IEC60529 measurement standard. They are also vandal resistant and comply with the EN50155 standard for “Railway applications – Electronics equipment used on rolling stock”.
The WV-SW155 incorporates facial recognition technology features technologies which ensures clear and well-focused facial images are captured for consistently intelligible IDS. When a registered suspect face is captured using the facial recognition technology data can automatically be sent to trigger an alarm in a compatible network video recorder, alerting security personnel.
Features of the Panasonic WV-SW155 include:
* 1.3 Megapixel high sensitivity MOS sensor w/ 720p HD images up to 30 fps * Full frame (up to 30 fps) transmission at 1,280 x 960 image size * MEGA Super Dynamic and ABS (Adaptive Black Stretch) technologies deliver 128x wider dynamic range * Face MEGA Super Dynamic technology ensures clear images of the face * High sensitivity w/ Day & Night (Electrical) function: 0.8 lx (Color), 0.6 lx (B/W) at F2.2
* Multiple H.264 (High Profile) and JPEG streams ensure simultaneous real time monitoring * VIQS (Variable Image Quality on Specified Area) technology allows designated areas to retain higher image quality, enabling lower image file size and bit rate * IP66-rated water and dust resistant.
