Perth Mint Seeks Supply and Commissioning Of X-Ray Screening Machine

Perth Mint Seeks Supply and Commissioning Of X-Ray Screening Machine To Protect The Largest Gold Deposits On Earth.

Perth Mint Seeks Supply and Commissioning of X-Ray Screening Machine – Tragically security people, we’ve been advised the RBA security tender has been put on hold and in its stead, we present to you the need for something ever so much less interesting – X-ray machines…

On a slightly more interesting note, these X-ray machines will be protecting Gold Corporation as part of Perth Mint’s ongoing investment in physical security – which probably includes access control, alarms, CCTV and all the usual electronic gear – at its East Perth facility in Western Australia.

It’s worth bearing in mind that gold is always interesting, especially when you don’t have any. It’s certainly interesting to consider that Australia has the largest gold deposits on Earth, that most of them are in Western Australia, that gold will soon become Australia’s second largest export by value, and that your X-ray machine will be instrumental in protecting mountains of gleaming gold from some very naughty people, indeed.

This tender seeks delivery of a fully commissioned X-ray screening system, with the selected contractor providing installation and commissioning services on site. According to the tender release, the contract is, rather unsurprisingly, “open to suppliers able to meet the technical, compliance and installation requirements of a live operational environment”.

What this means there will be some people walking about while you work but probably not very many, given the need to protect all that lustrous gold, which unlike mere cash, has an intrinsic value that, despite market fluctuations irrelevant to you and I, has never been lost in human history’s thousands of forgotten currencies.

There’s a non-mandatory site visit on November 12, 2025, at 310 Hay Street, East Perth, commencing at 10am. Photo identification will be required for entry. You can learn more about this Perth Mint Seeks Supply and Commissioning of X-Ray Screening Machine tender here – there’s more slightly less humorous SEN news here.
