Port Of Newcastle Upgrade To Enhance Security – Dyke 1 & 2 Mooring Infrastructure.
Port Of Newcastle Upgrade To Enhance Security – Port of Newcastle has released a tender seeking infrastructure improvements to improve security of ships alongside berths that may involve electronic security works.
Port of Newcastle is working to an upgrade master plan and is planning on upgrading wharf infrastructure at its Dyke 1 and 2 Berths. Its expression of interest (EOI) seeks feedback from industry experts on interest, capability, availability and cost effectiveness for design and construction of mooring structures and associated modifications resulting in improved security of vessels alongside and improved infrastructure capacity.
Port Of Newcastle Upgrade To Enhance Security
The use of the word security is somewhat opaque when it comes to the business of securing vessels alongside a dock, but we’d assume keeping ships stationary with great big ropes and fenders is routine once they’re out of a seaway and it’s worth noting the upgrade works include electrical and lighting.
The Port of Newcastle is the global gateway for the Hunter Region and New South Wales. It is the largest port on the East Coast, and Australia’s third largest port by trade volume, with considerable scope for expansion.
This Port Of Newcastle Upgrade To Enhance Security of ships alongside tender closes on April 2 – you can find out more here, read the Port of Newcastle Masterplan here or find more SEN news here.
